This list was started to compensate for the website being static for some three months (09-1298), but has proved itself to be a very lively forum for Dana's fans all over the world. So why stop a good thing?

the purpose of the list
My hope is that this list can satisfy your need for information about Dana. Here you can post all sorts of information about Dana: News of record releases, TV and radio interviews, chart listings - anything you think other Dana fans would be interested in knowing. Translations of articles from newspapers and magazines will probably also be popular reading. I will post on the list myself with any news I come across, as well as notifications to the fans when the site has been updated.
The list can also serve as a way to get in touch with other Dana fans, swap records, etc. - just as long as it's related to Dana.

the website and the mailing list
The list has proved a good source of information for the site. Thanks to all list-subscribers who have contributed so far! Your postings have been and remain instrumental in keeping the website up to date.

how to join?
Dead easy - just click on the "Join Now!"-button to the left and follow the instructions on how to subscribe. The welcoming e-mail you receive when subscribing will include information on how to unsubscribe, if you would like to do so. There is also a possibility to get a digest version of the mailing list, should you prefer not to receive the e-mails one by one (the list can be quite busy at times).

do you use a free e-mail service?
I have had problems for some time with an ex-list member who had to be banned some time ago. Since then she has tried to enter the list with an incredible number of identities and e-mail addresses – the only thing they have in common is that she signs up for e-mail addresses at free e-mail services on the net. If you try to enter the list with an e-mail address like that (typically hotmail or yahoo or something similar), you are bound to arouse my suspicion that it's her trying to get on the list yet again. If you use an e-mail address like this, I suggest the following:

  1. Best solution: Try to enter the list with another e-mail address which is more difficult to get hold of than simply signing on to a free service (i.e. one given to you by your internet provider or similar).
  2. Second best solution: e-mail me directly to ask me to invite you to join the list – in the e-mail you should tell me a little about yourself, where you first heard of Dana and why you want to join the list. When I feel sure that you are not the banned ex-list member, I'll put you on the list.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this brings you, but believe me – you would not want to be on an e-mail list with our banned ex-list member either.

guidelines
Please remember that this list is dedicated to discussion about Dana and her career.
Be nice. Everyone has a right to her/his opinion and to express said opinion. It is also your right to disagree with them and to say you do. However, there are right ways and wrong ways to disagree with people. The wrong way is by flaming, baiting, etc. Personal attacks on any person will not be tolerated. If you disagree with someone's opinion, talk about the topic or the issue, not the person. When in doubt, it's suggested you err on the side of caution. Abuse of list members and others (including Dana International) regarding gender identity, sexual preference, ethnicity, politics and/or religion may well result in an immediate ban from the list. No warning is necessarily given!
Please don't post any chain letters, etc.
You can't post files on the list itself. Instead, you can try uploading files to the member area on the yahoogroups server, and then mail the list with a description of the file to make people aware it’s there to be downloaded.

language
The 'official' language of the list - as the site - is English. If you feel you must post in other languages, please include at least a brief note in English on what the mail is all about so that the rest of us are not left out completely. (And remember: We have all subscribed to the list to get news on Dana - not to comment on people's grammar etc!)

Then all that remains is to hope that you'll enjoy the list!

And remember: The success of this mailing list depends on your contribution. Like the website itself, I'm hoping for this to be a collective effort where we all contribute what we can.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me
