>>a private affair...

To many people, PVC is the material prostitutes choose to wear during office hours. But the shiny black stuff has become part of a new vogue. Krystina Kitsis has been creating rubber and PVC since 1985 under the Ectomorph label, and is keen to bring PVC into the fashion milieu.

Krystina believes that rubber will be a classic; like someone has a leather jacket, they will have a rubber dress or skirt. The diversity of people who look to rubber or PVC to rubber or PVC to transform their lives is vast, from office works to high flying members of parliament. "People can spend all week in at work, but can become completely different people at the weekend," says Krystina.

"It can be very stylish and you can wear it to clubs or even to the restaurant. It has a caché as well as being slightly risqué". A lot of designers pick it for its shock value, because it does still operate in SM territory. "I think the difference with my clothes is that they are not about bondage. I don't see the clothes as restricting." Krystina's prolific talent has been noticed by Jean-Paul Gaultier and Liza Bruce, but you can judge for yourself in Skin Two and Ritual magazines, where her styles are regularly showcased.
