• Important: As the structure of the site has changed considerably over the years, this part of the site history does not contain links to the different sections of the site. However, all material added to the site over the years remains here, and shouldn't take you long to figure out where on the site to find it.

(Toda raba, Juri ve-Ziv!)

v6.01 - 06.03.1999
As Dana is entering a new stage in her career, I thought it appropriate to update the look of the site. I hope you'll like it and find it functional!
The following changes in content have been done:
The opening page has been made leaner. The calendar has been dropped as Dana's management promises to update the news section on the official site regularly. Two new pages with content that used to be on the opening page - this site (site description) and dana on-line (links to Dana-related sites, including the official site) - have been uploaded. There is a new lyrics page - with an explanation on why I have chosen the PDF-format for the lyrics file, a link to Adobe's site for download of Acrobat Reader and of course a link on to the file itself.
Media section: Ziv Geri has translated a recent interview from Ma'ariv - very interesting comments on Dana's past year. (Toda, Ziv!) A link to an article on Dana as a queer Israeli has been added to the research section. The tv-page has been suspended.
Discography: Johan Jarl has sent me a cover scan and track list of Woman in love. (Tack, Johan!) Conspiracy: The English text has been temporarily suspended - it needs to be reworked and will be changed into a PDF-file with footnotes etc. Translation of more chapters is not a priority, but remains a long-term aim.
Finally, small general updates of content has been done on the following pages: FAQ - TS-page - politics page - Dana & I.

  • v5.05 - 17 January 1999 This years first update contains the following:
The media page has been updated with a few articles sent by Ziv Geri, Jimmy Mackenzie and Chris. (Toda, Ziv! - Thanks, Jimmy and Chris!) Emma P. has pointed out that the media page was becoming all red, so I have at her suggestion changed the colour - now only the articles stemming from the last two updates are red, the rest are blue. (Merci, Emma!)
Those of you who subscribe to the mailing list have probably all read Michelle B's informative piece regarding Dana's first interview, 'Confessions of a singer'. For those who have not read it, here it is: Michelle B on 'Confessions of a singer' (Thanks for letting me upload it on the web, Michelle!)
The discography has been updated with Ziv Geri's information from Ofer Nisim on the upcoming releases. (Toda, Ziv!) Jimmy Mackenzie has sent a scan of Sony/DancePool's CD-single promo of Diva. (Thanks, Jimmy!)
The FAQ has been updated with a link to the lyrics file - people are regularly e-mailing to ask for translations of lyrics, so obviously the link was pretty well hidden until now.

v5.04 - 31 December 1998 Closing off the year with an update! Quite a lot of extra press material this time: Ziv Geri has done 21 translations (!), including what is probably Dana's very first interview back in 1992 and a most interesting Ma'ariv feature from March 1995, Dana International: The true story. ('Od pa'am, toda raba, Ziv!) Lemuel Shattuck has also sent a translation, as well as beautiful scans of the photos from Dana's first Paris Match interview published December 1997. (Thanks, Lem!) Finally Ilan has tipped me about more BBC pieces aired just after Dana's Eurovision victory. (Toda, Ilan!) All this on the media page as always!
The discography has been updated with more info from Frank C and Ziv Geri, including scans of the Israeli pirate bootleg of The Album and the cover of the Don Quixote promo CD-single. (Merci, Frank! - Toda, Ziv!)
A couple of links have been added to the transsexuality page. (Thanks, Lem!)
The lyrics file has been updated with the lyrics for Nosa'at le-Petra, Power and Woman in love. (Toda, Ziv - thanks, Jimmy - gracias, Paola!)
Finally, maybe some of you would find my new site interesting: My Bülent Ersoy site is devoted to one of Turkey's biggest stars - who also happens to be transgendered like Dana.
    Happy new year everyone!

v5.03 - 21 December 1998 This took some time - as you have noticed... Thanks for your patience! Articles and interviews have been added from Israel (toda, Ziv!), Spain (thanks, Heather!), France (merci, Emma!), Sweden (tack, Sanna!), the UK (thanks, Jimmy!), the US (thanks, Michelle!) and Egypt. All are placed on the media page. I have translated the first half of an article on transsexuality published in the Gulf, it has been placed on the transsexuality page. (Shukran, Nizar!) The second half, which includes references to Dana, will be included in the next update together with more articles from the Israeli press courtesy of our wonderful Ziv Geri.
As three months have gone, the whole site needed a general update. Accordingly I've gone over most sections bringing things up to date. Especially the discography (merci pour les scans, Frank C!), the FAQ and the opening page needed changes.

v5.02 - 23 September 1998 Last update for a while! See mailing list for details about when I return. By theway: My ordinary e-mail address will be working throughout my stay in Cairo.
Several people have sent articles: Sanna Fröblom in Finland has sent one from Attitude, Eric Willemen has translated one from Gazet van Antwerpen, Heather Ecker has translated one from Odisea Madrid and Ziv Geri one from Ma'ariv. All are on the media page as usual. (Kiitos, Sanna - dank U/merci, Eric - thanks, Heather & toda, Ziv!)
Ziv has also sent another translation for the lyrics page, Mi she-lo rotze oti. This prompted me to do some general cleaning of the file - and including a couple of more Hebrew lyrics (without translation for now). Updated version: Lyrics file. (Toda, Ziv!)
Marie has sent me news of Dana guesting Eurotrash on British Channel 4 on 25 September at 10.30pm - the calendar has been updated accordingly. (Thanks, Marie!) There I've also tried to fit in information from Ziv on Dana's recording plans - which seem to change regularly.

v5.01 - 13 September 1998 This update is a little late, but then it's fairly extensive. Dana's name is now spelt with one 'n' throughout the site, and that took some time to do. (All gifs etc had to be changed too...) So it's been a lot of work, even though the site looks the same as ever! (The reason was mostly for the site to start showing up on search engines when new fans are looking for information on our heroine.)
Visible changes: A new page has been added, Politics (!) - an attempt to put some of Dana's more political statements into context. The page about the mailing list has been renamed (surprise, surprise) Mailing list. (People are signing up regularly, and are using the list just the way I hoped. Keep on posting!)
Both Frank Chevallier and Ziv Geri has sent scans of the cover for The Album. (Merci, Frank! - Toda, Ziv!) Ziv has sent translated articles from the Israeli press regularly the last two weeks - you'll find the result on the media page. (Some of them are very recent.) I have also translated a couple of Norwegian articles - both brought to my attention by Frank Chevallier. (Merci, Frank!)
Shiva has called Arcade/CNR in Sweden, and they report that Woman in love will be released in early October, with promotion copies distributed to radio stations and the like in a week or so. It's difficult to say whether it will be released simultaneously all over Europe, but the experience with Diva makes it unlikely in my opinion. (Tack, Shivis!)

v4.19 - 30 August 1998 I will be out of the country from 24 September to 7 December - accordingly I will not be able to update the site during that time. But not to worry: Check out the No updates? What to do?-page!
Ziv has done more translations: Check the media page for details. (Toda, Ziv!)
Heather Ecker has dug up an article from the Barcelona newspaper El País from June which shows clear traces that the reporter has stopped by my website - she has translated it, and you'll find it on the media page under the Press - Continental Europe section. (Thanks, Heather!)

v4.18 - 24 August 1998 Ziv Geri sent more articles just as I was uploading the last update. Among them a very interesting one written by Shai Kerem, who is now part of Dana's management team, printed in Rosh 1 071297 - check the media page for details. (Toda, Ziv!) Ziv has also translated Let kiss, and sent Hebrew lyrics for Sex acher and Zemer shalosh ha-tshuvot - accordingly the lyrics file has been updated - and I included the lyrics of the English version of Layla tov, Eropa while I was at it!
Another reason to update the lyrics file was corrections for the Magnona sent by Shiva and Shima in Sweden and Nader in the US. (Tack Shivis, shukran Shima wa-Nader!) Shiva also tells me MTV Select has put Cinque milla on their list of videos you can ask for - send them an e-mail already! Link on top of the opening page.
The discography has been updated with information from Victor on a Spanish edition of Diva on 12" vinyl. (¡Gracias, Victor!)
For those of you out there who read Arabic: Finally (!) I have got my act together and uploaded the first 6 chapters of the conspiracy theory in Arabic in PDF-format: Download Fadiha ismuha Sa'ida Sultan!

v4.17 - 21 August 1998 It's official: Dana is not happy with the release of The Album. Shiva tipped me about the interview published in the Swedish daily Aftonbladet 190898 where Dana attacks the record company responsible. (Tack, Shivis!) You find the link to my translation of the article on the media page. Ziv has also contributed a number of Israeli articles to be found at the very same location. (Toda, Ziv!)
I have also managed to include scans of the Cinque milla and Diva (CNR remix edition) covers, both provided by Eric Willemen. (Merci/dank u, Eric!) Note: The copy of Cinque milla that he got hold of in Belgium only had two tracks - it has an identical cover to the 4-track version, so make sure you get the correct one! For cover jpgs and info on the two different editions: Discography.

v4.16 - 16 August 1998 Ziv has translated 11 (!) articles published in Israeli newspapers this year; have a look at the media page! He has also translated Mi she-lo roked and The show must go on from Hebrew, the lyrics file has been updated accordingly. ('Od pa'am: Toda, Ziv!)
Heather Ecker has sent me two items from CNN and AP - also on the media page. (Thanks, Heather!)
Jaqueline has gotten in touch with PolyGram Germany who told her the German release date for The Album is 8 October. (Danke, Jaqueline!)
The FAQ has been updated with information on the somewhat chaotic situation with competing releases of Dana records by different record companies. I have also done a long overdue update of the review section.

v4.15 - 11 August 1998 Frank in Switzerland has informed me that Helicon/PolyGram have also released a new Dana compilation: Dana International - the album. It contains several of her harder house songs, and is the only place you can find the English version of her first Eurovision song, Good night, Europe. See the discography for details! (Tracklist also courtesy of Frank - danke/merci!)
Ziv has sent more articles - but then you've probably made a habit of checking them out on the media page by now? He has also sent the Hebrew lyrics for some of the original songs on EPTampa, the lyrics file has been updated accordingly. (Toda, Ziv!)
Shiva Logmani and a friend have gone over my translations of Dana's Arabic lyrics - the lyrics file has been corrected! (Tack, båda två!) Ilona Engblom has made me aware of a curious fact regarding Let kiss off Maganona: The song is actually a cover version of a Finnish Jenka hit from the 50s called Letkis!! (Kiitos, Ilona!)

v4.14 - 8 August 1998 Cinque milla (off Maganona and Diva ha-osef) has been released as a single in Europe on Dana's former record company Helicon, distributed by PolyGram. See the discography for details!
I have had some reports on problems with the lyrics file - I hope it's working properly now. (If it doesn't, please let me know - with information on what kind of computer and operative system you use!)
Ziv has sent several new translations: The media page! He has also translated the lyrics of Sex acher - and the lyrics file has been updated accordingly. (Toda, Ziv!)
Frank Chevallier has tipped me on a German mail order company stocking all versions (CNR and Sony) of the Diva single: Check out CyberCD. (Merci, Frank!)

v4.13 - 31 July 1998 Jaqueline has mailed me with information that Dana now has an official fan club address: FAQ for information! (Danke schön, Jaqueline!)
Ziv Geri is still busy translating (amazing considering he's working full-time...!), he has also pointed out some other articles from the international press I have overlooked. Have a look at the media page! ('Od pa'am: Toda, Ziv!)
Ilona Engblom has sent me a translation of one of the first European news stories about Dana representing Israel in the Eurovision: The media page (press page 1). (Kiitos, Ilona!)
Shiva Logmani has sent me the reference to two Swedish news stories: One on Dana's performance at the Stockholm EuroPride on Saturday and an interview published Sunday, both of which I have translated - the media page. (Tack, Shivis!) Calendar updated with info that the 2nd single - her song for the Bee Gees tribute album, Woman in love - will probably be released in September.
The lyrics file has been updated with Sa'ida Sultana and Dana International in Arabic, transcription and translation to English.

v4.12 - 24 July 1998 While I have been on a small holiday, Ziv Geri has been busy translating - have a look at the media page! (Toda, Ziv!)
The calendar has been updated with news of Dana soon participating in a Swedish talk (no information yet on when it will be broadcast), as well as contributing her version of Barbra Streisand's Woman in love for a Bee Gees tribute album to be released in December. She will also perform the song at a Beegees tribute concert at London's Wembley Arena in September.
The FAQ updated with some more info on where to get Dana's records.

v4.12 - 17 July 1998 Ziv Geri, Heather Ecker & Sasha DeMonaco have sent translated articles from the Israeli, Spanish and Dutch press: The media page for details. (Toda - thanks - dank!) Shiva Logmani and Ilona Engblom tipped me of a Swedish article which reports that Dana will perform at the Stockholm EuroPride festival closing ceremony on 25 July. (Tack - kiitos!) I have translated the article, placed on the Nordic section of the media page.

v4.11 - 14 July 1998 Ziv Geri keeps sending translated articles: The media page for details. He has also told me that Dana wil go on the catwalk for Jean-Paul Gaultier in Paris on 19 July. (Toda, Ziv!)
A new era has started for the site: Today I upload the first pdf-file, which means I can now mix Hebrew and Arabic in files that all of you can read - as long as you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 installed. If you don't, I suggest you download it (it's freeware). To test it, open the lyrics file - with the words to Dana's songs in the original Hebrew or Arabic, with transcription (so you can sing along) and translations! (The file with expand with time.)

v4.10 - 9 July 1998 Ziv Geri has done more 'historical' translation work: Go to the media page for details as always! He has also translated a recent article from the Israeli tabloid Ma'ariv, The queen, an interview with Dana's managers 'Ofer Nisim and Shai Kerem with lots of details on what the new albums may be like! (Toda, Ziv!) Lemuel Shattuck has mailed me to tell Dana was featured in the 2 July issue of Paris Match - which I immediately went out to buy & translate: The international magazines page. (Thanks, Lem!) Different parts of the site have been updated according to the information in the interview.

v4.09 - 4 July 1998 Lemuel Shattuck has tipped me on a transgender website run by the group Press for change - link also included on the transsexuality page.
Amazon.com now stocks Diva (the single) and Diva - ha-osef (the Israeli best-of compilation). A great place for records - I have used it myself and it stands recommended.
Ziv Geri has translated and sent even more Israeli articles, and Meital Itzhaky did one too. (Toda raba lakhem!) Check out the Israeli section on the media page for titles and links. Ziv has also translated Fata morgana.
Lemuel has sent me a couple of articles from Billboard, as well as leading me to find a number of British and Israeli articles - all placed in the appropriate sections on the media page. (Thanks again, Lem!)
Calendar: Updated with news of a free concert in Bristol (UK) on 6 August 1998.

v4.08 - 30 June 1998 This update has been a little late as I have been having a week's vacation in Denmark, but now I'm back in full force. Next on the agenda is to answer all the e-mail I have received - you'll all hear from me in a day or three!
Discography news: CNR released Diva as a remix-CD5 on 190698 with two of the mixes from the Sony releases, as well as a Swedish remix. The I'm gonna let CD5 seems to have been put on hold, according to René who has been in touch with the record company. (Dank U, René!) It seems this may have something to do with Dana's management being unhappy with the release. The release is only meant for the Netherlands' market.
The FAQ has been updated with a British mail order company, Action Records, which stocks the Sony releases for £2.99 and at very reasonable postage rates. This tip was courtesy of Frank Chevaillier. (Merci, Frank!)
Media: The section has been restructured once again. This as a result of Ziv Geri translating a huge number of articles published in the Israeli press before her Eurovision success. Literally tons of interesting interviews so we can all get to know her better! ('Od pa'am: Toda lekha, Ziv!) Ilona Engblom has also sent me an article, this has been placed on the Nordic media page. (Kiitos, Ilona!)

v4.07 - 18 June 1998 René tells me some Diva-remixes will be released by CNR on 19 June, the discography has been updated accordingly. (Dank U, René!) Ziv Geri has sent me translations of Mishchak ha-dma'ot and Flash Gordon. (Toda, Ziv!)
Media: Ziv Geri has translated two more Israeli magazine article, one from Rosh1 and one from Ma'ariv La-no'ar. I have translated a Norwegian version of the Spice Girls-related story from VG: Nordic press page.

v4.06 - 16 June 1998 Diva has been released in the UK and Ireland (and presumably Spain & Portugal); the covers have been added to the discography. (Thanks to both Tim Moorbey and Clive Palmer for sending scanned covers!) I have also added a link to Clive Palmer's OGAE-UK website, where you'll find excerpts of the British Diva remixes in the soundbytes section.
Mail order news: The CNR edition of Diva is now available from the US net mail order giant CDNow - but at $10.95 +P&P maybe a tad expensive?
Media: Ziv Geri has translated a 1995 article from the Israeli magazine Pnai Plus, available on the Israeli 1995 press page. (Toda, Ziv!) This section will be expanded continuously over the summer with more articles from Ziv's vast collection to give Dana's fans more information about her road to success! Ilona Engblom has translated two articles from the Finnish press; one is on the international magazines page, the other on the Nordic press page. (Kiitos, Ilona!) I have translated an article from the Norwegian weekly Se og Hør and uploaded it on the international magazines page.
My beloved Paris-correspondent, Emma Psyche, notifies all fans with access to French TV that a Dana special will be shown on 21 June in the evening - more detailed information will follow: Calendar. (Merci, ma chère Emma!)
The lyrics in English page has been updated with the words for Dana's first Eurovision attempt Layla tov, Eropa. Translation by Ziv Geri.
The "Dana on the internet" section of the opening page has been updated with a small item on the official information (or rather lack of such) available from Dana's record companies. (The interview uploaded by Inc-redible is well worth a read, though!)

v4.05 - 12 June 1998 Ziv Geri has provided me with even more info - accordingly the discography, the FAQ and the calendar have been updated (the latter with complete schedule until early August!). (Toda raba, Ziv!)
René van der Drift in the Netherlands reports that the record label EMS/Crossover has released the song I'm gonna let off Maganona as an 'unofficial' single. I doubt this release is coordinated with Dana's management, and Maganona is available on import and mail-order, hint hint. (Dank U, René!)

v4.04 - 09 June 1998 Media: Arne Duncker has sent more German press clippings: Press page 6. (Vielen Dank, Arne!) Roger Fry has sent out a Sunday Times-story on the little things mailing list: Press page 4. (Thanks, Roger!) I have also added some Israeli articles to press page 3.

v4.03 - 08 June 1998 Media: Lemuel Shattuck has sent a small story aired on CNN recently about Jewish Law still counting Dana as a man for Jewish prayers: TV page. The introduction on the TS page has been rephrased and a link added. (Thanks, Ina, for very useful input!)

v4.01 - 03 June 1998 On 29 May I finally met Dana, and so a page has been turned over - both for me personally and for the website! An account of my impression of one of the most beautiful and charming women I have ever met? Where else than on the Dana & I page! There is also a complete transcript of the interview I did for Mamarazzi.
I was not the only one to interview Dana: Some Scandinavian news stories have been added to press page 2. There you will also find my article defending Dana against the Norwegian Birmingham delegation - it was published by VG on the debate page today (I sent it to them 11 May...), together with an article by a fundamentalist preacher warning of Dana's influence on gender-confused youth. A transcription of her brief appearance on Norwegian TV2's Fredagsbørsen show: TV page. Lemuel Shattuck has sent me his translation of the Paris Match article on Dana from December last year, it has been placed on the international magazines page. (Thanks again, Lem!) A Scottish article has been added to press page 4 - and the calendar has been updated with the news of Dana performing at the Scottish Gay Pride in Glasgow on 14 June. (Thanks, Alan Stuart!) Ditto for news provided by Emma Beckett that Diva will be released in Australia around 10 July. (Thanks, Emma!)
Ziv Geri has provided me with details for Dana's single releases - accordingly the whole discography has been restructured. More accurate information on some of the singles will follow. (Toda raba, Ziv! - ani tzarikh le-emor she-ani kanai meod lekha...) Clive Palmer reports that Diva has been remixed in six versions and distributed to British DJs on two promotion 12"-singles. (Thanks, Clive!) Some of these mixes will probably turn up on the Sony releases of Diva scheduled for 8 June in Britain and Ireland.
Finally I would like to apologize for the delay in updating the page this time around. I have a good excuse though: The FTP of my internet provider has been down since 30 May.

v3.20 - 28 May 1998 On the initiative of the Norwegian radio show Mamarazzi (P3 weekdays 11am-1pm!), I will do the only interview for Norwegian radio with Dana on the current promotion tour. (Norwegians: It will probably go on air Tuesday 2 June!) The results of my 30 minutes with Dana will be uploaded during the weekend. Watch this space for more details!
...almost forgot: There's also an item from Music Week uploaded on the international magazine page.

v3.19 - 27 May 1998 The calendar has been updated with final date of Dana's performance at the Amsterdam Gay Games (August 1st). The FAQ updated with Dana's records now being available on import in the American city San Fransisco.
Media: My dear Emma Psyche has received help from Lemuel Shattuck with an article from La Repubblica - placed on press page 6. (Merci - thanks!) I have translated an AFP news item from the Arabic daily al-Hayat, and placed it on press page 3.

Media: My trusted deputy Emma Psyche has translated a number of articles from French, they are put on press page 6. (Merci beaucoup, chérie!)
A general 'spring cleaning' of the site done - with checking of links, etc.

v3.17 - 21 May 1998 The lyrics of the English version of Diva uploaded.
Media: The interview with yours truly on the Norwegian radio show Mamarazzi has now been translated to English and uploaded on the radio page. Arne Duncker in Germany has sent me a number of German news stories which have been placed on press page 6. (Vielen Dank, Arne!) This is also where two more articles translated by Lemuel Shattuck have ended up. (Thanks again, Lemuel!)
This site is constantly expanding - today with two brand new pages: The calendar is where all the information I have on Dana's whereabouts, record releases and concerts will be put. The transsexuality page aims to give you the opportunities to find out more about that subject.
Finally, the FAQ has been updated with more information on her record company deals as it's now clear she has also signed a contract with Sony Music UK.

v3.16 - 19 May 1998 Diva has been released in Europe as Dana has signed with the Dutch record company CNR International. The record is already climing the charts in the Netherlands and Belgium. For more information, go to the review page. The discography and the FAQ have also been updated accordingly - as well as with info on both the single and the greatest hits collection.
Diva - the collection (the Israeli release) is now available on mail-order from both Hataklit and Jerusalem Music Distribution. They also have it on import at FNAC in Paris. Which is where my beloved Emma Psyche got my copy - which I received by mail today. (Merci, merci, ma chère!) Oh happy day! Both the compilation and the single in one day...
Lemuel Shattuck has been very busy and translated a number of articles and news items: One from Der Spiegel on the international magazines' page, two items from AFP and two from DPA on the news agency page, three articles from Spanish and Portuguese papers (El Periodico, El País & O Diario) have been put on press page 6 - finally the transcription of an NBC news story has been added to the tv page. (Thank you again for the effort, Lemuel!)

v3.15 - 18 May 1998 An article from the German magazine Der Spiegel added to the international magazines' page. (Thanks to Lemuel Shattuck who translated it from German and sent it to me!)

v3.14 - 15 May 1998 A number of news stories added: One AP item to the news agency page; One BBC item to the radio page; Two Daily Telegraph articles to press page 4; One CNN item to the tv page - and finally a press page 5 uploaded for US articles: One from NewsPlanet and one from Washington Post. Phew!

v3.13 - 14 May 1998 My interview with NRK P3 on Dana went very well - the content will be uploaded as soon as I get the tape.
The FAQ updated with two central questions I keep getting e-mails on: Why I use Dana and not Dana, and why I refer to our heroine as Sharon Cohen on the opening page. My trusted deputy Emma Psyche is busy at the keyboard: She has now sent two more British news stories, which have been added to press page 4. An article from Ha'aretz on Dana's visit to the Knesset added to press page 3. Two new Dana-sites have been added to the homepage: The gay rights group at Hebrew U/J'lem, Ha-asiron ha-acher, has a Dana-page, so does Maya Rose, an Israeli TS: Etar Dana (the last site is Hebrew-only).

v3.12 - 13 May 1998 The FAQ updated to tell you that I now have a way to contact Ofer Nissim for people interested in booking Dana. E-mail me for details. I have also received an e-mail with possible release dates for Diva on CDsingle. (Thanks, Glenn!) Several articles from the 100598 edition of the Swedish daily Aftonbladet added to press page 2. A press page 4 added for British articles as my faithful amie in Paris, Emma Psyche, has sent me an article from the The Mirror. (Merci encore une fois, ma chère!)

v3.11 - 12 May 1998 Another article added from Ha'aretz, Israeli authorities vow to put next year's Eurovision in Jerusalem: Press page 3. Yesterday I was contacted by Norwegian national radio station P3. They invited me to discuss Dana's achievements in the show Mamarazzi. It will be broadcast live Thursday 14 May 11am-1pm all over Norway. If you can: Don't miss my radio debut - as well as Dana's songs aired for the first time on Norwegian radio! (They asked me to bring all my CDs.)

v3.1 - 11 May 1998 More newspaper articles added; Scandinavian ones to press page 2, Israeli ones to press page 3. (Toda, Liora!) The FAQ updated with (lack of) information on the release of Diva as well as future plans and how to get in touch with her management.

v3.0 - 10 May 1998 SHE HAS WON THE EUROVISION!!! Mazal-tov gif added to homepage. Most files gone over to update references to her Eurovision performance. 3 post-victory articles from the Norwegian press added to press page 2.

So far there is no news of what will happen. She is returning to Israel today, so maybe in a few days we will have more information about her future plans after the victory. Who knows what can come up: European tours, international record deals for a new album... I expect Diva to be released as a CD-single pretty soon. But - it's too early to say. If you get to know anything, mail me, and help me keep Europe updated!!!

v2.34 - 9 May 1998 An interview with Dana in yesterday's Yedi'ot Aharonot has been added to the press page (thanks, Lee!). And now we are all waiting for the big event tonight - stay ready by the phones!

v2.33 - 7 May 1998 Two more Norwegian newspapers with Dana-articles today, following yesterday's press conference in Birmingham: Both are featured on the press page. The first (Aftenposten) one very favourable, the second (Dagbladet) a bit vitriolic. But note that this journalist slags off any- and everyone - he seems to think this is very cool (as opposed to childish).

v2.32 - 5 May 1998 Computers can be very fun sometimes... As you may have noticed, all addresses on my site (except for my Norwegian homepage) have changed all of a sudden. Well - what can I say except "update your bookmarks & favourites!" Sorry about the inconvenience, but I assure you it was not my initiative. (Believe it or not, my new website design program had some ideas all of its own.)

Anyway: At least there are some changes in store for you now that you have reached this far!
In the middle of my computer trouble, Norway's largest newspaper VG (incidentally my former employer - see my personal homepage for details!) ran a big Dana article which has been translated and put on the press page. Their website has linked me - and the result: 200 hits in one day... Now, the article contains a number of mistakes. The reporter (who you could say I know fairly well...) has been contacted!

The opening page has received a little work-over, including a link to the very well laid-out Dana-page on the wonderful Miss K's Dragnet-site (thank you, dear - not the least for the dix points!). The Israeli Culture website has linked me (I suspect this is also a reason behind the large number of hits lately). They do a great job and stand recommended! (Toda, Ellis!) The Dan Shilon show interview on the television page is now adorned with pictures - provided by Adar (toda!), more pictures are available on his site. Mon amie Parisienne, Emma Psyche, has found a shop which has copies of EPTampa and Sex acher available - the address has duly been put in the FAQ.

v2.2 - 27 April 1998 Two interviews with Dana added to the media section: Dana made her last Israeli performance before the Eurovision singing Diva live on the Dan Shilon Show on Israeli Channel 2 on 210498, a translation of the interview has been provided by Adar Openheim (toda, Adar!!) and can be found on the television page. The same day the London Evening Standard ran a feature article by their Tel Aviv correspondent, this has been placed on the press page. (Takk til Roar og Alan!) One of the first international articles on the Dana-Eurovision controversy, from The Irish Times, added to the press page.

v2.1 - 20 April 1998 Another restructuring of the media page... Chapters 4 and 5 of the conspiracy, Hormones and acupuncture and Dana on the road to scandal have been uploaded with comments. (About time, no?) Discography, review and FAQ revised here and there as a result of an e-mail from Roy in T''A (toda!). An item from the NY Times, Go girl, was added to the press page. (Thanks, Lee!)

v2.0 - 13 April 1998 A full revamp of the layout of the site after I downloaded a beta version of the graphics program Fireworks (available both for Mac and Windows, it's custommade for web graphics). Hope you like it!

v1.4 - 6 April 1998 The interview with Dana on France 2 broadcast on 21 March has been transcribed and translated by Emma Psyche (merci ma chère!) and uploaded by yours truly. A greatest hits collection, Diva - the Collection, has just been released. See the updated discography for track list (both list & scanned picture of the cover was taken from Adar's website). I've pulled myself together and translated more songs off Maganona to English: Ot mi-shamayim, Sipur ahavtem shel Chas va-Chalila and Bo. For Don Quixote and Menafnefet I've had extensive help with the Hebrew from Meital Itzhaky - she has also pointed out mistakes (now corrected) in other translations. More pictures have been added - again thanks to Meital who has been very busy with her scanner lately. (Toda raba 'al ha-mashov mimekh, lo rak 'al ha-tmunot!)

v1.3 - 29 March 1998 Questions have started filtering in by e-mail, so the Dana FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is now added. The media section has been changed slightly to prepare for new articles which will be added at a later stage. The Arabic text of the conspiracy theory has been suspended for now - the files will be available as .pdf-downloads at a later stage. (In the meantime, should you need the Arabic text - e-mail me and I'll transfer what I have.)

v1.2 - 22 March 1998 Celebrating more than 275 hits, I decided to restructure the opening page. My ramblings on how I became a Dana fan has now been put on a separate page. The opening page should also be a little more informative now. The comment page is updated with my impression of Diva, as well as a link to a link of Adar's RealAudio-download of the song as presented on Israeli TV on March 13.

v1.1 - 08 February 1998 Songlyrics in English uploaded, some lyrics in Hebrew and Arabic added. Chapter 5 of the conspiracy theory uploaded in Arabic. All files in Arabic should now work properly after doing some technical changes. (In sha' Allah! If they still don't - e-mail me and I'll see to it.)

v1.0 - 16 January 1998 Opening page changed with more links. The book updated with one more chapter in translation, as well as the first four chapters of the original text in Arabic (encoded both for mac and windows). Pictures added here and there. This site history page added. Reference to Chattering away in Arabic (a Ha'aretz article on Israeli attitudes to learning Arabic) added to the page on Dana's Arabic. A webcounter installed - in order to track the interest netizens are showing in my site.

v0.9b - 06 January 1998 The site was uploaded on the net for the very first time - to very little fanfare whatsoever...
