Game Theory- a mathematical theory that deals with strategies for maximizing gains and minimizing losses within prescribed constraints: widely applied in the solution of decision-making problems. Also called theory of games.

I. an unquenchable thirst for perfection...

As society progresses and resources become increasingly depleted, efficiency is seen as the miracle fix-all. From turning off lights that are not being used to performing appendectomies, we are on a constant look-out for new ideas to guide us to perfection. Game theory attempts to do just that, via altering the thought process.

II. life is a game...

The greater part of childhood––and life, for that matter––is spent gaming. How appropriate, then, that we turn to game theory to solve our problems. The very same logic that is used in a game of "tic-tac-toe" may be applied to real-life situations, such as duels and games of "chicken."

III. so what?

The point is, life can be related to anything. In fact, my dog's steaming excrement in the backyard is a perfect example of how life moves on and recycles. However, we, as human beings, need coping strategies. And if one must be picked, pick this one... I dare you.
