the Witches'
Wheel of the Year and some
Samhain rituals. The funny thing about the latter link is that, in elementary school when we studied Thanksgiving, we did this. Everyone brought some piece of homemade food, and dressed like settlers in the colonial period, and we ate apples. When we peeled the apples, we made sure that the skin came off in one big strip, tossed it over our schoulders, and were told that the letter it spelled out was the name of our future spouse. Sadly, I can't remember what mine was. But I do know that I was kinda disappointed, because it was the first letter of the name of a boy in my class that I certainly didn't want to wind up marrying. Yuck, cooties and whatnot.
